I know, it's a bit early. Don't kill me. Here's my pic for the Winter Holidays 2005.

If you want to read whatever misc things I have to say about it (that looooong description that typically goes in this artist's comment box here)...read this.

If you immediately noticed Varynn's left eye and got freaked out by it, I apologize. Originally I planned to cover it with snow but later thought his left eye doesn't stick out enough to be noticed. If you want, I'll do another version with snow covering his left eye (that will be one huge snowflake though...). I will not add the iris and pupil though, since I designed him to have his eye like that.

I'm not pointing fingers, so don't think I'm talking about you. However, aren't artists and art appreciators (which would be all of you) suppose to be open-minded? Please don't be yet another person that hints/suggest that I should make Varynn's left eye normal. You're more than welcome to tell me that it freaks you out or whatever, but please don't make yourself sound right (and me wrong) by suggesting what is considered 'normal.' [/edit]

Wow, this is really great.. The sheer amount of detail and great tone work is beautiful. And I love the composition of the whole piece. Also I love the hand, for some reason.. seems odd.. But the position of it and the smoothness is really good.. or something. Anyway the only crit I can think of is that his left ear (or right whichever way u look at it) looks a little off-place. I appreciate it's pointing in the different direction but they don't seem to join at the same place on the head. But maybe it's just an illusion I duno.. Either way. I'm being picky.
Also I admit at first I thought it was a girl. But this isnt a complaint. Because looking at him I can see him as both.. Anyhow.. I'm rambling. Very good work.
The shading is actually really well done. I dont mean the shadowing I mean the depth and texturing of the colours, as well as the contrasts within the shades of colours used. Really quite an excellent job. Top notch skills. I also really like how you linked to the different stages and detailed descriptions. Quite a masterful piece. Good job!
Anything in particular you liked about this piece?

Oh and I think the eye looks fine.
