Description

Come on and show
them your love.
Rip out the wings of a butterfly
for your soul.
(Don't let go.)

-Chorus lyrics from HIM Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly

Hm...this doesn't look like a literal interpretation, does it? >_<

This is the first version. Version 2 can be seen here.

Things to say:
1) That's a female. I know, I shall forever suck at drawing females.
2) She's holding onto a butterfly as well...not just her hair. (And that's her hair that's spewed all over).
3) Her ripped wings comes from the butterfly she's holding...
4) All those little wings are suppose to be butterfly wings...(yes, I know, they don't look like it. Yet again I go off drawing w/out reference).
5) All the little wings have a blue cirle thingy as the body. Those thingies are souls/spirits.
6) Speaking of souls/spirits, that female nude is also a soul.
7) Any HIM fans out there should recognize the heartagram symbol on the wing...
8) And since this is a fanart, there's nothing wrong w/ me drawing in the heartagram logo, right? Because it's a *fanart*. If we are allowed to post original fanart of copyrighted characters, we can post fanart of logos, right? Or am I wrong?
9) If there wasn't the copyright problem with lyrics, the lyrics would probably be varying in size (each line) and scattered (scattered like my watermark) around the top of the image with "for your soul" in the lower right. ^^

*stares*
Don't the wings look purdy (pretty)? It wasn't easy for me to incorporate the circular heartagram into the wing design.
